A nasal fracture can not only affect the external appearance of the nose but also make nasal breathing difficult. Targeted rhinoplasty after a nasal fracture helps restore the natural shape of the nose and improve its functionality.

A broken nose is a common injury that can lead to a crooked or deformed nose. If the crookedness or deformity is severe and affects breathing or the appearance of the nose, rhinoplasty may be necessary to correct the nose.
Broken noses can be caused by a variety of causes, including blows to the face, for example, in contact sports like boxing or handball; car accidents; or other accidents in which the face strikes a hard object.
Acute pain and swelling in the nose area, and sometimes even bleeding from the nose, usually occur. The nose may appear crooked or deformed, and breathing may be impaired.
If a nasal fracture is suspected, the patient should seek immediate medical attention to diagnose the injury. In many cases, simple pain management and observation may be sufficient to reduce swelling and pain and allow the nose to heal.
However, if the nose is crooked or deformed, a nasal bone repositioning procedure should be performed. This is a surgical procedure to straighten a broken and bent nose. If the nose remains crooked after healing following nasal bone repositioning, a rhinoplasty can be performed after one year.
This nose surgery after a nasal fracture can be performed for both aesthetic and medical reasons. The operation corrects the crookedness of the nose and improves nasal breathing.
During a rhinoplasty procedure, which is performed under general anesthesia, the basic structure of the nose can be repositioned and shaped. The ultrasonic scalpel is a great aid in this process, as the bone is not rebroken but rather cut precisely.
I'm super satisfied!I can only express my sincere thanks to Dr. Wilke. I'm very happy with my new nose and can finally breathe freely again. Dr. Wilke took a lot of time for me and my wishes during the initial consultation, explained everything thoroughly, and gave me a lot of reassurance through his empathy.

In September 2021, I had another consultation with Dr. Wilke, and then the nose surgery in the same month. The result is fantastic! I still can't believe that I have such a great nose for the first time in my life!
Thanks to Dr. Wilke, but of course also to the entire team for the great care!

Rhinoplasty after a nasal fracture is a surgical procedure performed to correct the crookedness or deformity of the nose caused by a nasal fracture.
Rhinoplasty after a nasal fracture is usually performed at least one year after the nasal fracture, because only then have the injured parts of the nose healed. During rhinoplasty, the nose is remodeled and given a symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing shape.
The recovery time is the same as after a normal rhinoplasty. The final result is expected after approximately one year. However, patients can usually resume their daily activities after one week.
Yes, rhinoplasty can help improve nasal breathing, especially if a deformity or deviated septum is corrected.
The risks of rhinoplasty for a long nose are low when performed by a rhinoplasty expert. Swelling and discoloration of the skin subside after a few days. Postoperative bleeding is extremely rare and usually occurs within the first 24 hours – the time our patients are intensively monitored in the clinic. Treatment is then possible without difficulty. If the nose has already been operated on, there is an increased risk of deformation and skin changes due to scar tissue and reduced stability.
To ensure optimal conditions for the surgery, medications such as Aspirin®, Diclofenac®, Ibuprofen®, and Voltaren® should not be taken for two weeks prior to the operation. Smoking reduces blood flow to the small vessels, which are important for wound healing, so we recommend stopping smoking during the healing phase. Good care of the nasal mucosa promotes healing both before and after surgery. We recommend starting nasal care with ointments and oils one week before surgery. A splint is applied after the operation. It is removed after one to two weeks, along with the sutures on the nasal bridge. Packing is not necessary for correction . We recommend refraining from sports for six weeks. Glasses should not be worn during this time.
